Why We Make These
This project didn't begin with bracelets. It began with the need to do something.
It Began With Watching, and Not Being Able to Look Away
Like so many people, we watched the devastation unfolding in Palestine — the injured, the malnourished, families living through conditions no one should endure — and felt something that wouldn't let go. Heartbreak, yes. But underneath it, a simpler and more stubborn feeling: I have to help in some way. Not someday. Not symbolically. Actually help.
The Letters
The first attempt was the one we're all told to make: write to the people with power. So we did — every single senator, and the President. Letter after letter, asking them to act for the people of Palestine.
Out of all of them, exactly one reply came back. A form letter.
That was the answer, in its own way. If reaching out to our representatives wasn't going to produce the outcome we were looking for, we would have to find a path that didn't run through them.
Rolling Up Our Sleeves
So we turned to what was within reach: our own community. We organized and hosted local fundraisers, raising money for the aid organizations treating and caring for devastated Palestinians. And it worked — modestly, but genuinely. Real dollars went to real relief.
But somewhere in the middle of all that organizing, something unexpected happened. We discovered that what we truly loved wasn't running events. It was making things — small, wearable tokens of Palestinian awareness and support that people could carry into their everyday lives.

Bead by Bead
There is something quietly healing about stringing beads — the rhythm of it, the care in it, the fact that at the end your hands hold proof that grief can be turned into something useful. Each bracelet became a small act of remembrance: the colors of a flag that refuses to be forgotten, a watermelon charm carrying decades of quiet resistance, the name of a Palestinian city whose story deserves to be told.
And each sale became something more than a sale. It became aid.
Where Every Dollar Goes
Today, all profits from every bracelet sold are donated to the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) — a vetted, highly respected grassroots organization that has been providing healthcare to Palestinian communities since 1979. From primary care to emergency response, PMRS reaches the people our letters never could.
We chose PMRS deliberately: decades of on-the-ground work, deep roots in the communities they serve, and a mission — accessible healthcare for those who need it most — that matches exactly why this project exists.
Wear the Story Forward
When you wear one of our bracelets, you finish the story we started. Someone asks about it, and you get to tell them about a city, a symbol, a people. You become the reply that never came from the letters — proof that ordinary people, when the institutions fall silent, can still find a way to help.
